Dr. Matt McKinney is the Interim Director of Writing-in-the-Disciplines and Chair of the W & C Course Advisory Committee. He joined the Texas A&M Department of English in the fall of 2017, after earning his PhD in rhetoric and composition at the University of Nevada-Reno. As English faculty, he currently holds the rank of instructional assistant professor and also serves as the Coordinator of English 210: Technical & Professional Writing. 

Dr. McKinney's teaching and research interests include critical pedagogy, writing-in-the-disciplines, rhetoric of style, graphic novel analysis, and the rhetoric of pop culture. He also serves as a leadership coach in The Maroon & White Leadership Program and has held writing workshops for enlisted veterans in partnership with the Warrior Scholar Project.
