Texas A&M University developed a university-wide policy that enables students to move more freely among majors and colleges. Students should make informed decisions regarding their academic interests and their professional goals and objectives. The
information page contains college and major specific requirements for changing your major and is updated by each college and department on an annual basis.
Students requesting to change their major within a college or to another college, or from Transition Academic Programs (TAP), may do so by using the following resources to carefully investigate the new major before making a change:
Incoming/First Term Students can change their major:
- Prior to confirming admission to the University;
- At check-in of your New Student Conference;
- 10 days prior to the start of the semester through day five (add/drop deadline)
- Changes after census (12th class day) will be effective the following semester.
Continuing Students can change their major after completing one term of full admission and full-time enrollment:
